A human-centred approach to design focused on improving everyday experiences and responding to complex contemporary challenges. Service Design places human experience and aspiration at the centre of the design process, considering people’s needs and abilities. The programme explores issues including the future of work and education, social isolation, urban transport, end-of-life care, and the city environment’s impact on wellbeing. Students apply design processes to complex problems, combining artefacts and interactions to develop services that exist, unfold and evolve across space and time.
