Symbiosis
My “Symbiosis” collection explores the interplay between nature and urban spaces, using ivy’s growth as a metaphor for the tension between humanity and the environment. I merge traditional craftsmanship with eco-friendly materials to reflect this balance, and the functional aesthetics of 20th-century female farmers’ workwear blend practicality with artistry. Bamboo weaving, organic cotton, silk, and raffia create biodegradable, energy-efficient textiles, while handcrafting techniques like crochet and beadwork embody slow fashion principles. At its core, my practice seeks to reconcile the fractured relationship between humanity and nature. By redefining garments as mediators rather than commodities, I advocate for sustainable craftsmanship and a renewed respect for Earth’s delicate balance.
