The PhD programme at GSA is internationally recognised and central to the School’s research culture. PhD researchers are part of a close-knit, interdisciplinary research community within one of the world’s oldest and most renowned practice-led institutions.

As a research community, we create, embody, and respond to new developments in contemporary art, design, technology, and, architecture. Collaboration, experimentation, and impact are key to the vibrant and supportive environment where creative practice is nurtured and valued.
The work featured below is by students who have recently completed their PhDs, and represents a snapshot of the bold and vibrant research community of The Glasgow School of Art.
