I’m from Beijing, China, currently living in the UK. I’m exploring how drawing — both digital and hand-drawn — can help express emotional experience, memory, and inner perception. My practice is a slow process of observation, reflection, and trying to connect through images.

Pieces of life
This is a reflective illustration project based on personal memory.
It began with a real moment at my grandmother’s funeral, when I said to my mother: “You don’t have your mother anymore.” The emotions and structures behind this sentence have lingered in my mind ever since, in a vague troubling way that I could not let go of.
Through this project, I attempt to use illustration as a tool to ask: “What exactly happened at that moment? Why did it happen? What does it mean to me?”
I approach these questions by repeatedly revisiting and re-examining that moment through drawing.
