Trauma Bubble
This project seeks to spark meaningful conversations about mental health, emotional resilience, and self-worth. It delves into the psychological phenomenon of trauma bonding—a paradoxical attachment to toxic relationships, where affection, loyalty, and dependence persist despite the harm inflicted. Through a visual narrative, I explore themes of longing, obsession, and the struggle for self-liberation.
Inspired by how our clothes distort when we hug each other and Wendelin Wohlgemuth’s disrupted reality paintings, I use garments as a medium to express the tension between desire and pain, intimacy and detachment, transforming these complex emotions into tangible forms. This collection embraces slow design over fleeting trends, focusing on beauty and comfort rather than gender archetypes.
