Shixiao Wang is an illustrator and comic artist whose work explores the intersection of social psychology and visual storytelling. Through shifts in color and line, she conveys emotional transitions and examines how adults, under the pressures of reality, seek freedom and self-discovery by “returning to childhood.”

FREE TIFFANY
FREE TIFFANY is a ten-page comic that explores Kidult culture—the desire of adults to return to childhood as a way of coping with modern pressures. Through a reimagining of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the story follows two characters who, for one day, escape adulthood to rediscover freedom. The visuals shift from grey and fragmented to bright and fluid, mirroring their journey from exhaustion to release.
