Nancy Eadington

Nancy Eadington is an artist based in Glasgow, her work studies landscape and uncertain futures. Through printmaking, painting and photography she explores the atmosphere of our built environment aiming to create speculative visions of future landscapes
Eadington’s current research focuses on sites of change in the city such as points of infrastructure, wastelands and post-industrial ruins. Investigating connections between the conditions of abandonment and activity that flourishes in these isolated environments, DIY skate parks, graffiti, social gatherings. Her expressive tactile approach to mark making creates an ambiguous position between the drawn and photographic, and the real or imaginary.
Eadington achieved a BA in Fine Art Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2011. She spent the years after building a successful career as a scenic painter in film and tv, working on numerous large-scale productions across Europe and the UK. Stepping away from the film industry last year to follow her artistic ambition and study for a Master’s in Fine Art Practice, painting, drawing and printmaking at Glasgow School of Art.
She has recently shown work at the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition, Grateful Gallery and is a member of the Glasgow Print Studio.
