We are all living together

We Are All Living Together is an interactive installation that responds to the social issue of discrimination, misunderstanding, and unconscious negative behavior toward disabilities. This project invites anyone to participate as both an image-maker and a thinker about society.

The installation consists of two posters, each serving a different role: one focuses on questioning, while the other emphasizes answering and building. On the first poster, participants are asked, “What are we all?” and “How are you feeling about coexistence with differences?” and can choose a sticker that reflects their feelings. On the second, they can place their stickers to express their opinion, connect with others, and join a collective visual dialogue. Through this process, the installation makes the act of conversation visible. The final outcome—shaped by the audience’s actions—delivers the message “we are all living together”. The image created with various patterns expresses how society is built through human connection, while they have different backgrounds, cultures, and characteristics. Each pattern varies depending on the audience’s choices of color, shape, and placement, symbolizing the uniqueness of the community.

We are all different potatoes

We are all different potatoes is a dialogical art workshop aimed at encouraging interaction with people with disabilities and fostering healthier, more inclusive relationships.

This workshop focused on the “What I ate” section, specifically highlighting my twin sister’s unique dietary habits. The new title, “We are all different potatoes,” was inspired both by her particular preference—eating mashed potatoes every day—and by the well-known phrase “Think of the audience as just a bunch of potatoes,” which suggests that, regardless of names or social status, we are all human at our core. During the workshop, participants—including my sister—shared mashed potatoes together in the “Eating” segment, where they discussed their own personal habits and quirks. This was followed by the “Creating” segment, where participants were invited to express their experience with the mashed potatoes through artistic expression. The workshop aimed to cultivate empathy and emotional connection while also celebrating the richness of individual perspectives and diverse forms of expression.

A zine, We Are All Different Potatoes, is an archive of the workshop that shares the objectives, conversations, atmosphere, and artworks created in the workshop.
