Beyond the Mask: Autistic Women Support Design in Scotland
This project focused on autistic women, especially those diagnosed later in life, and how design can help reduce masking, strengthen peer support, and promote understanding in workplaces and society.
Adopting a participatory design approach to co-create the communication and empathy tool ‘Beyond the Mask’ with autistic women, the public, and relevant organizations—supporting emotional mutual aid and resource sharing within the community, while fostering public understanding of their real-life experiences and building a more inclusive society.
