Sujin Park

Born in Korea
Lives and works in Glasgow, UK

Sujin Park is a visual artist who explores the fragmented and nonlinear nature of memory. Working with materials such as hanji, soap, wax, and resin, she creates paintings, objects, and installations that embody memory as a sensorial presence. Through delicate materiality and spatial encounters, her work evokes unspoken traces and invites viewers to reflect on their own memories and emotions.

Summer Night Fireworks

white clay powder, gouache on paper, 2025

This work recalls a childhood summer night, when I watched the fireworks my father lit beyond the veranda window.

Barefoot in Scotland

oil and white clay powder on wood panel, 2025

On a small Scottish island, I walked barefoot with friends on rain-drenched, velvety grass. Its deep green and tender touch will linger in my memory, as my own way of remembering Scotland.

What Is My Destiny?

wax, resin, acrylic, plaster, silicone, 2025

Doljabi is a Korean traditional ritual that foretells a child’s future. The neatly arranged objects on the tray, as if awaiting the child’s touch, quietly and delicately revisit that symbolic moment of choice, raising questions about identity and destiny.

I Love You

A grandmother, living in longing after the loss of her lifelong companion, and a small snowman resting upon her husband’s grave. This quiet scene reveals the essence of life and love.
