(she/her)
My practice begins with a response to fleeting sensations and immediate imagination in the present moment. I am drawn to a state between reality and illusion—something real and tangible, yet fluid, ambiguous, and uncertain. Painting is about following feelings, intuition, and sudden moments of imagination as they arise, allowing the image to gradually take shape.
I believe that many things are not already determined, but are constantly happening and becoming. I want to create my own world through my feelings, imagination, and actions. The world is something we continually create for ourselves.
FLY IN CIRCLE
Fly in Circle explores the movement between the self and the world, and the continuous cycle between inner experience and the external world. For me, the world is not a fixed reality that exists separately from myself, but something constantly shaped through seeing, feeling, memory, and personal experience. The exhibition is divided into two interconnected parts: an inner world and an outer world, which together form an evolving map of my consciousness.
The first part represents the inner world, a space closer to myself. The works draw from family, maternal lineage, upbringing, relationships, and personal memories—the experiences and emotions that have shaped my inner world. This is where the journey begins: from my own experiences and the intimate world that I carry within me.
The second part moves towards the outer world, opening into a constantly evolving wonderworld. The works bring together fragments of places, landscapes, journeys, encounters, and fleeting sensations that I have experienced. Through painting, these fragments are transformed and reconnected into an imagined landscape. Rather than directly depicting reality, this wonderworld is generated through my encounters with the world outside myself.
Together, the two parts form the movement of Fly in Circle: I begin from within, fly out into the world, gather experiences and sensations, and transform them into a world of my own before returning to myself.
