My art practice is deeply rooted in exploring the relationship between humans and water, using photography and moving images to capture the essence of water’s flow and its metaphorical significance in our lives. My work reflects on themes of freedom and transformation, drawing inspiration from the natural world and my personal experiences growing up near significant water bodies in China.

Initially focused on static imagery, my projects have evolved to incorporate dynamic moving images that illustrate the fluid and ever-changing properties of water. This shift has allowed me to engage more deeply with my subjects, presenting water not only as a physical element but also as a symbol of life’s complexities.

The culmination of my work is presented in a darkened exhibition space where large-scale projections and ambient sounds create an immersive experience. Here, the audience is invited to contemplate their own connections to water and the broader environmental and cultural narratives tied to this vital element. My use of audio, particularly my own narration in Chinese, personalizes the experience, bridging cultural and geographic divides to highlight the universal significance of water.
