One Face, Too Many Times explores what happens when the same face is repeated again and again. Using one artificial face as a constant image, I tested different systems of repetition, including linear, grid, dense, rotational, mirror, random and fragment repetition. As the image multiplied, I noticed that repetition did not always make the face more noticeable. Instead, the face gradually became a visual unit, pattern or surface, and its individual identity started to fade. The project uses publication, sequence and reader interaction to explore how repetition can change the way we recognise and look at an image.
