SLOP: The Production, Circulation and Consumption of AI Slop
This project explores AI SLOP as a system of production, platform circulation and audience consumption. Instead of focusing only on the visual appearance of AI-generated content, it examines how creators, recommendation systems and audiences become connected through content and data.
A series of cans represents the changing states of a single AI SLOP content unit, from template-based production and platform distribution to viewing, consumption and data feedback. Production manifests, review certificates, delivery notes, consumption receipts and performance reports record how the same content is repeatedly identified and processed.
These physical objects are placed within a relational map showing how content moves forward while audience behaviour and performance data flow back through the system. Together, the installation makes the normally invisible relationships behind AI SLOP visible and traceable.
