Interweave:  A Dialogue Between Heritage and Modernity

This project fuses three cultural and craft influences to connect intangible heritage with modern fashion. Inspired by the Tibetan Pulan garment, it adopts a minimalist, comfortable silhouette grounded in harmony with nature. The Guangzhou Thirteen Factories folding fan informs cross-cultural aesthetics through its dual structure, while hand decoration links traditional motifs to contemporary wear. Focused on formal symbiosis, cultural translation, and craft authenticity, the design merges Pulan’s loose form with the fan’s transformability, reinterpreting elements through delicate decoration. A balanced palette contrasts calm base tones with vivid accents. Embracing deconstruction and haute couture principles, it rejects fast fashion, promoting sustainability, slow craftsmanship, and heritage-inspired designs with modern relevance.
