My hometown is rich in coal resources, and working in the coal mines has become an important source of income for many people.

The work is physically demanding and dangerous, yet in order to make a living, most people are willing to take the risk. At the end of a working day, their bodies are covered in black coal dust, making their eyes appear especially bright.

This series of works focuses on these coal miners. Their faces have left a deep impression on me and always remind me of what it was like to grow up near the coal mines. These stories of coal have become an essential part of my memory of home.
