KILLING TIME: A journey to find a lost target
KILLING TIME is an interactive visual novel publication that transforms theories surrounding standardised time into an absurd story set within everyday spaces. It explores how clocks, schedules and productivity culture turn time into an invisible social norm that shapes our behaviour and perception. Rather than simply reading the story, readers participate through navigational choices and unconventional reading mechanisms, gradually encountering and experiencing the rules and constraints imposed by the system, with their choices leading to different outcomes. Combining experimental typography, visual narrative and interactive reading mechanisms, the work takes the form of an A5 printed publication that integrates game mechanics into the physical experience of reading. The book itself becomes a system that organises the reader’s behaviour, inviting reflection on the relationship between time, efficiency, and individual freedom.
