This work brings together different visual elements, including coal miners, death, newborn babies, and text. By depicting birth, labour, and death, I explore how some lives are more likely to enter the public eye, while the lives of ordinary people can quickly disappear after death if there is no news coverage or public attention. Without media reports and social discourse, their deaths may pass almost unnoticed.
