That Once Resonated There / Invoking the Silence of Where We Aw Come From: A Short Portrait of Laird Lee Kirk

That Once Resonated There explores the sound of a place of play & creativity from my childhood in Croy, North Lanarkshire. Utilising analog synths, field recordings, photography and moving image to evoke memories and forms a wider investigation into a sense of place.

As a companion piece, the short film Invoking the Silence of Where We Aw Come From:A Short Portrait of Laird Lee Kirk explores the creative practice and process of Cumbernauld-based poet & musician Lee Kirk. Utilising voice over, field recordings, Lee’s poetry and sound design to follow Kirk to his place of inspiration. Both of these short films form part of a moving image and sound archive which is in currently in the works.
