Nishthha Bamne

(She/Her)

I’m a multidisciplinary designer driven by a passion for innovation, design thinking, sustainability, and multi- culture. My journey started with a focus on spatial and furniture design during my bachelor’s and in the course of my master’s I delved into the expansive world of design innovation and business, broadening my horizons. I believe that “design is limitless & a process of never-ending possibilities”

I thrive on experimenting with new ideas and exploring fresh perspectives. Each project is an opportunity to challenge conventions and bring a unique, dynamic approach to the table, turning every challenge into a chance for learning, discovery and making each endeavour a step forward in a continuous journey of innovation.

Im-press-ions : Educational Approach to Craft Revival

“Im-press-ions” is a heartfelt project born from my deep connection to cultural heritage and a passion for preserving traditional crafts. Focused on the revival of block printing in Scotland, this project bridges past and present by integrating this craft into modern educational curriculums.

Through immersive research, including engaging with local artisans and exploring the rich history of block printing, I discovered the challenges faced by traditional craft (Block printing) in today’s world—declining markets, generational disconnect, and cultural erosion. The outcome is an educational package that brings block printing into classrooms, providing students with hands-on experiences that spark creativity and foster cultural appreciation. The curriculum and starter kit together provide a comprehensive framework that promotes creativity, cultural understanding, and interdisciplinary learning, aligning with Scotland’s educational goals.By involving artisans directly, this project not only preserves a dying art but also creates new economic opportunities and strengthens community bonds.

—it’s a journey of cultural revival, ensuring that the stories and skills of the past continue to inspire and thrive in the hands of future generations.
