- 如今,苏格兰威士忌已成为苏格兰的全球象征。游客们不仅渴望品尝其独特的风味,还渴望了解苏格兰人民丰富的历史、文化和不屈不挠的精神。纵观威士忌的发展历史,它曾面临无数挑战——从恶劣的气候和地理困难,到几乎让该行业濒临崩溃的历史动荡。然而,苏格兰人凭借坚定的决心克服了这些障碍。现在,随着苏格兰威士忌面临新的挑战,我希望这个项目能激发人们对该行业的反思,并更深入地了解苏格兰威士忌的精神。
- 该项目旨在分析和解读苏格兰五大威士忌产区的独特风味、气候和地理特征、生产技术、历史背景和当地风土,通过解构有形元素来表达历史、文化和集体记忆的抽象概念。通过实地研究、参观、互动、案例研究、气味研究和实验,我能够更深入地探索苏格兰威士忌的风味及其所体现的精神。该项目利用五种感官从多个维度解读与威士忌相关的集体记忆,同时还提出了解决威士忌行业在城市化和可持续发展背景下面临的挑战的解决方案,例如垂直蒸馏系统。我希望我的项目能让人们以更实惠、更方便和更具创新性的方式体验威士忌的独特风味和潜在的精神。空间的模块化设计也表明了将项目适应不同城市的可能性,探索新的威士忌体验和蒸馏方法,并通过将苏格兰威士忌带给更广泛的受众来延续其丰富的传统。

AIM
By analysing the current issues and future challenges facing the whisky industry, I aim to create a targeted design. I aim to interpret and showcase the rich flavours of Scotch Whisky through a multi-sensory experience. The design will allow people to embark on a condensed, longitudinal journey through Scotland’s five whisky regions, experiencing the unique character, craftsmanship and flavour of each. In addition, the design will convey the adaptability of Scots to different natural environments, highlighting the history and spirit of development that ultimately shaped the unique identity of each region.
In line with the research objectives, the project’s research questions explore the symbolic representation and spatial translation of the flavours, history and collective memory of the five whisky regions, and through field research and analysis, identify and reflect on the challenges faced by the whisky industry, ultimately proposing solutions to address these issues.
I have encountered many challenges in the development of this project. However, as my research on Scotch whisky has become more in-depth, I have been inspired and encouraged by the spirit that whisky embodies. I hope that the unique ‘flavour’ and spirit of my project will be seen by a wider audience to inspire and motivate others.
