JINGYI WANG

Through this project, I explore the connection between dreams and reality, using perspective to interpret and reconstruct fragmented dream scenes. These fragments place me within a tension between the ego and the id, where distorted faces and fleeting images linger beyond waking understanding. I apply spatial measurement through the three points of a clothes horse, mapping the distance between body and consciousness. Double-exposure and ghostly imagery are layered onto stretch fabric, creating colours that appear both blurred and defined. Sleeves twist like ropes, allowing for many ways to wear the clothing. This work becomes a dialogue with the self, bringing unseen subconscious states into focus.
