Exploring Wildlife Habits and Awareness Through a Night-Time 3D Serious Game

Snout Scout is a night-time 3D serious game designed to introduce players to the habits, habitat needs, and conservation challenges of giant anteaters.

Taking on the role of a ranger exploring a nocturnal environment, players encounter a giant anteater and complete a series of interactive tasks inspired by real-world environmental pressures. These include removing rubbish, reducing light and noise disturbance, and creating a suitable shelter. Through exploration, environmental interaction, and visual feedback systems such as the Mood Value and unlockable Fact Files, players can observe how their actions influence the animal and its surroundings.

The project explores how game-based interaction can make wildlife conservation information more engaging and accessible. By combining a calm night-time atmosphere with simple, purposeful tasks, Snout Scout aims to encourage players to better understand the relationship between human activities, animal behaviour, and habitat quality.
