After the Rain is a serious game prototype developed as part of my MSc Serious Games & Virtual Reality research project.
It explores how gentle, emotionally sensitive play can support women after a romantic breakup.
Through 2D narrative scenes, a quiet 3D home-care routine, and interaction with a rescued cat, the game invites players to practice care, reflection, emotional regulation, and gradual recovery.
The prototype combines cozy gameplay, companion-based caregiving, hospital treatment interaction, save/continue functionality, and an adaptive final scene. Rather than presenting healing as a problem to be solved, After the Rain creates a calm space for rebuilding everyday well-being, self-compassion, and a quieter sense of hope.
