am an environmental designer with a background in interior architecture, urban design and design innovation. I am interested in how people use and experience buildings, streets and public spaces in everyday life. My work often starts with observing a place and understanding how people interact with it. I use research and small-scale design interventions to explore how existing spaces can become more welcoming, accessible and useful for the people who use them.
Reactivating Building–Street Interfaces: Transforming Forres High Street into Spaces of Public Care
Reactivating Building–Street Interfaces on Forres High Street explores how small-scale interventions can support everyday public life in a historic town centre. Rather than redesigning the whole street, the project focuses on overlooked spaces between buildings and the street, where opportunities to pause, meet and spend time are often limited.
The project developed through site observation, mapping, public engagement and precedent studies. It proposes a modular public installation combining seating, planting and flexible spaces that can support resting, waiting, social interaction and seasonal activities.
By testing both integrated landscape ideas and adaptable modular systems, the project looks at how small, low-tech interventions can make underused street edges more welcoming and useful while responding to the character of Forres High Street.
