This project was inspired by my childhood experience of learning to swim and the sensation of being in water while looking skyward.
I wanted to express this aesthetic experience in both surface and silhouette form. I captured warping and contorting effects by taking photographs of images and objects in water which I then interpreted in various visual and tactile ways.I have tried to convey the colourless, transparent and glassiness of liquid and simulate the flow of water.
I have used the human body as a loom alongside various printing and hand-cutting processes to create three-dimensional forms.
I believe in applying sustainable concepts throughout the design process and in everyday life.
