In Tune with Art

Museum prescribing and arts-based wellbeing initiatives have become more widely recog-nised, with growing evidence suggesting that engagement with art and culture can support mental health and wellbeing. However, limited interest in museums, museum fatigue, low engagement, and social and economic challenges prevent people from accessing these experiences. This project explores how museums can become more accessible and better support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

In Tune with Art is a temporary, self-guided outdoor art and nature trail designed for young people local communities. Located in a park surrounding a museum, the trail invites visitors to walk, encounter artworks, and respond to gentle prompts that encourage pausing, observing, reflecting, and connecting with nature. The proposal combines art, movement, and outdoor space for creating a calmer and less overwhelming way to support wellbeing and engage with museums.
