Navigating Glasgow’s Public Transportation
To a lot of people, public transportation is not only a means of travel, but it also serves as a key that helps them access a wide array of opportunities and participate in society. Despite its’ size, Glasgow’s public transportation network is still underperforming compared to many of its counterparts in other cities, with many of its’ user still underserved to this day.
The lack of trust is one of the key challenges that prevents Glasgow citizen from utilizing Glasgow’s public transportation system to the fullest. To address this issue, Navigating Glasgow presents social design proposal that aims to examine public transportation beyond the means for mobility but also as an avenue of social interaction and a reflection of social norms and behaviours.
This project aims to serve as a touchpoint where community involvement and real time data meet to create a platform that facilitates transparency in the public transportation system’s operation and safety through collaborative reporting. Through this project, safety and trust becomes not only a personal responsibility but a collaborative effort by the public, service provider, and relevant authorities.
The ultimate goal of this project is to ensure that Public transportation becomes a service that people can take without worry, therefore improving interconnectivity for vulnerable communities.
