What the Body Remembers

Responsible design in this project begins with the everyday compression created by bras. Rather than treating temporary pressure marks as flaws to conceal, the project reinterprets these subtle traces as a design language. Distorted body imagery istranslated into printed textiles, while oversized fabric panels are gathered through adjustable drawstrings to generate silhouette directly from compression. The garments balance restriction and release, allowing the body to negotiate shape rather than conform to fixed tailoring. Adjustable construction encourages adaptability across different body types, challenging conventional sizing systems. By transforming ordinary bodily evidence into structure, surface and volume, the collection questions how fashion shapes, disciplines and represents the female body.
