I am an illustrator with a background in art education and a particular interest in visual storytelling, nature and sensory experience. My practice explores how drawing and handmade processes can translate observations of the natural world into emotional and tactile visual experiences. In my recent project, I focus on trees, bark and the traces of time found in natural forms, exploring how illustration can create a sense of connection with nature for people who may not have easy access to natural environments. Through watercolour, coloured pencil and experimental mark-making, I combine close observation with abstraction to explore themes of growth, vitality, time and wellbeing.
Where Life Gathers
This series explores the relationship between human presence and the living world. I combine plants, trees, leaves and organic forms with simplified human figures to create imagined spaces where people become immersed in nature. The layered forms and flowing lines suggest growth, connection and continuity, while tree rings and botanical textures evoke the passage of time. Rather than depicting nature realistically, I use illustration to create a sensory and contemplative space—one that invites viewers to pause, reconnect with the natural world, and consider their own place within it.
