Molten Memories
This project reimagines preservation as an act of continuity rather than restoration. Responding to the decay of a former metal-melting site, cracks, cavities, and eroded brickwork are filled with molten metal—transforming damage into a visible record of time. Drawing from the site’s industrial past, metal becomes both a structural reinforcement and a material memory, creating a hybrid condition where brick preserves the history of place and metal recalls the history of making. Rather than concealing decay, the intervention holds it in place, allowing the architecture to evolve with honesty, resilience, and character.
