Envelopment, tension and anti-space define my work, shaping a visual, sensory and uplifting fashion experience. My journey began with the chance discovery of a mushroom shaped lamp with a steel core wrapped in open rattan. When lit, its projections captivated me, and I explored these effects through drawing and painting. I then translated these studies using three materials: synthetic whalebone for structured, exaggerated silhouettes, stretch mesh for translucency, and liquid rubber as a sealant. This process allowed me to reinterpret light, space, and form. Influenced by FKA Twigs, I embrace her balance of softness and strength, independence and vulnerability, which continues to inform my creative direction and overall design philosophy.
