Liquid Sky

Liquid Sky explores interactions between natural light phenomena and artificial illumination through textile and print. Inspired by aurora sightings in Iceland and observations of refracted light through the ice, I developed visual experiments exploring colour dispersion, intensity, and shifts within translucent materials. These effects were then translated through digital and sublimation printing, using saturated hues, gradients, and controlled contrast across opaque and sheer fabrics. Garment construction followed a minimal-intervention approach, using whole rectangular panels to display the digital printing works. Sustainability is central and employs zero-waste and subtractive pattern cutting methods as well as adjustable fastenings to support flexible and inclusive sizing.

“Liquid Sky”（液态天空）系列通过纺织与印花工艺，探索了自然光现象与人工照明之间的互动关系。该系列的设计灵感源自冰岛的极光景象以及光线穿透冰层时产生的折射效果；我据此开展了一系列视觉实验，旨在探究光色在半透明材质中的色散、强度变化及色彩推移。这些视觉效果通过数码印花与热升华转印技术呈现，在不透明与轻薄透视面料上运用了高饱和色彩、渐变效果及精心调控的明暗对比。在服装结构设计上，我采取了极简干预的策略，利用完整的矩形面料作为载体来展示数码印花图案。可持续理念贯穿设计始终，采用了零废料与减法式裁剪工艺，并结合可调节的固定设计，以实现灵活且包容的尺码适配。
