I am illustrator who is interested in capturing the beauty of the everyday. I place a strong emphasis on observational work and drawing on location, and my major project this year has been about documenting the food culture of Glasgow. I’m fascinated in the stories that can be told through images, and the use of illustration as a language to convey the beauty and drama that can be found in everyday things.
Scran- The Food Culture of Glasgow
In this project I used reportage illustration into food culture as a way to learn about the city of Glasgow. I compiled all of my primary, practise led research- drawing, observing and speaking to staff and customers- with secondary research into to social, economic and political trends throughout history that shape the food choices we make today, and have published this in Scran- The Food Culture of Glasgow; Getting to know a city through the food it eats.

The brief: Illustrations for a picture book interpretation of a historial novel. Here are some sketchbook pages exploring the history and culture of Vietnam from the 1800s- 1970s, and the final draft pages that I made.

The Perfect Pizza
The brief: Illustrations to accompany an article on the Perfect pizza.
Here are some sketchbook pages where I explored how to convey the taste, texture and deep heritage of the neoplitan pizza and digital drawings showing the evolution of pizza from fire baked etruscan bread, to Italian street food, through the microwave revolution and into the modern deliveroo offerings we know today.
