MLitt Fine Art Practice School of Fine Art
Emily Chung
Emily Chung (b. 1997) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Glasgow. She gained her Graduate Diploma in Art at Goldsmiths with a distinction and moved to Glasgow to Study Mlitt Fine Art Practice at the Glasgow School of Art.
Her practice spans diverse media including paintings, printmaking and performance. In her work, she draws attention to the everyday and causes the viewers to reflect on the mundane. She investigates the relationship between her female body, work and machine through prints and paintings; she seeks to express these investigations by creating images of figurations and fostering a dialogue between her female body and the world. Her works showcase her own body in ungainly positions. Her etchings and monoprints explore the feminine energy, versatility and visceral power and express her imagination of being a cow and hoover with femininity.
